Supervisor - Production

POSITION SUMMARY

This role supervises a Production Team engaged in one or more production activities, such as welding, refractory, electrical assembly, and/or sub-assembly. The Supervisor – Production partners with the Supply Chain to ensure equipment remains on schedule and on budget. This position manages and makes adjustments to schedules, workloads, and resourcing as needed to ensure deadlines are met and the optimal performance of the team. The Supervisor – Production is responsible for resolving the most complex production problems using strong technical expertise and a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures high safety and quality standards in all production areas.
• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the manufacturing department, including production, maintenance, quality, and safety.
• Develop and implement production schedules, plans, and procedures to meet customer demands, optimize resource utilization, and maintain high-quality standards.
• Lead, motivate, and coach a team of production operators and technicians to achieve production targets and continuously improve processes.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics, to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develops sound and effective production solutions to issues that impact a department.
• Proactively leads the development of improved production processes to better serve clients and achieve financial targets.
• Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
• Follows-up with direct reports to ensure jobs are on target for established hours and deadlines and adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 6+ years of previous managing production teams experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• (Occasional) travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• High/Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
• Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
