POSITION SUMMARY

A great opportunity to join a strong team in a growing Global Business manufacturing incinerators. The Refractory Bricklayer will be responsible for installing refractory bricks and cast concrete work in various new build incinerators and cremators. The bricklayer must maintain quality workmanship during the process to ensure that the job scope is completed. The bricklayer must be able to work alone and/or with the team: engineering, fabrication, departments to complete jobs both in the field and the workshop

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to read refractory and steelwork drawings
•    installation of insulation material, including stick welding anchors to support refractory. 
•    bricklaying expertise to include straight walls, interlocking brickwork and arches.
•    Castable material for areas of cremators including wooden shuttering for preparation of pour.
•    fork lift truck experience preferred with licence
•    IPAF training preferred.
•    clean driving licence required.
•    Repairs/rebuilds furnaces, refractory, liners, etc.
•    use of ceramic fibre insulation.
•    abrasive wheel experience for grinding etc.
•    ability to work alone or in a team to overcome faults and aid design of repairs.
•    able to converse with colleagues and customers

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

High School Education

Apprenticeship with bricklaying experience

Valid UK Driver’s Licence

Occasionally travel locally and nationally will be required.
Basic verbal and written communication skills .
Basic understanding and application of maths
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment.
Ability to work overtime where necessary.

•    Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•    Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
•    The noise level in the work environment may be high.
