Control Systems Engineer assists in the design, development, and testing of electrical designs for specialized equipment. This position understands equipment, business, and customer requirements that drive the design of the technical solutions and participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including the analysis, design and equipment construction, and installation support of designed equipment and confers with other engineering staff for programming and site startup support.


  • Developing control systems for combustion equipment
  • Working within a team of Engineers to solve complex and challenging problems
  • Creating value for customers through intuitive and thoughtful control logic
  • Building a robust set of design standards and records that will support products around the world
  • Creating Engineering packages that are organized and accurate
  • Engaging in electrical, software and sometimes Gas/plumbing mechanical engineering work
  • Learning new software, playing with new technology, trying new components

  • SolidWorks Electrical, EDrawings or other CAD tools 
  • TIA portal or other automation service tools 
  • Authoring of Functional Design Specification (FDS’s) for control system logic
  • Preparing technical drawings and specifications for electrical control panels
  • Testing finished products and system capabilities
  • After-sale customer support, incident follow-up, and root cause analysis
  • Creation of or maintenance of electrical design standards
  • Developing and integrating new technology to increase reliability and efficiency of the equipment
  • UL, CSA, CE or other regulatory compliance code


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 - 5 years previous professional electrical engineering experience 
  • Basic of understanding of PLC’s, SCADA Systems, VSD’s and HMI displays
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required
  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting



  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk, hear and see.  
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high
