Position Summary


The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the mechanical architecture, design and integration of products, tools, testers and components. This position uses experience and knowledge to design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.




  • Evaluating and developing mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and applying specific, relevant engineering principles including machined, sheet-metal and third-party parts and assemblies
  • Developing manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by conducting in-depth research into emerging technologies and trends.
  • Utilizing project management skills to analyze larger projects and formulate those projects into reasonable, predictable and measurable steps to align with timing requirements.
  • Assuring system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

  • Creating and maintaining documentation of designs such as user documentation and manuals, reference specifications, design documents and architectural descriptions.
  • Researching and debugging customer issues, identifying the root cause and developing applicable solutions.
  • Planning, scheduling and managing projects and resources of medium complexity and assignments up to six months of duration.
  • Assisting with the build of designs, and prototypes, utilizing feedback from fabricators and customers.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Combustion experience is a plus 4+ years of previous engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Knowledge of solid modeling, CAD software (Autocad), and statistics.
  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
