POSITION SUMMARY

The Photography Assistant assists the Photographer with creating high quality photographs (digital and conventional) for clients per client specifications by changing lenses, lighting, set construction, etc. This photography assistant will aid our photography team in organizing, setting up, and wrapping up photoshoots, in studios and on location. This position entails assisting clients, preparing photos for delivery, handling and operating photographic gear, and providing both creative and technical support to the photographer. We seek an individual with a passion for photography and an eagerness to collaborate with our team and clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends any client meetings (e.g. pre-photo studio) or interacts with clients directly as necessary.
  • Ensures high quality standards in all Photo Studio client deliverables by supporting Photographer work.
  • Provides support to complete Photographic sets for Photographic Artwork according to work order specifications.
  • Coordinates with Merchandise Coordinators the delivery and return of needed client merchandise to the Photo Shoot set, unpacking, setting-up, and re-packing merchandise as needed.
  • Ensures effective and timely coordination of pickup and return of rental equipment.
  • Ensures adequate inventory of film and photo equipment supplies at all times.
  • Creates strong and effective internal partnerships and collaborates across the business; listens and values the opinions of others.
  • Supports the team by pitching in at any level and effectively working across the organization to meet the needs of the business.
  • Supports Company’s profitability efforts by focusing on the efficient, accurate and timely completion of the assigned Photo Studio activities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's Degree in Photography or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1+ years of previous photography experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The salary range for this role is $22-26 per hour. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. This is a full-time position that includes health benefits and offers overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.0
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
