Installation Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Installation Technician serves existing customer accounts by analyzing work orders, ordering and gathering components and parts, completing installations at customer sites, and performing acceptance tests.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Organizes all hardware needed for orders shipped to installation sites.
•    Documents Pick to Light Systems design using Excel Spreadsheet templates.
•    Configures computer and barcode scanning terminals.
•    Produces data cables as needed.
•    Completes installation at customer sites.
•    Provides guidance to other 3rd party installation crews.
•    Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

•    Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic technology or related field
•    4+ years of previous installation experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
•    High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
•    Familiar with Windows 20XX Operating Systems, software installation procedures, and PC networks.
•    Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
•    Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
•    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
•    Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
•    Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
•    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
•    Ability to work overtime as necessary.  
•    Must have current driver’s license.  
 

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
•    Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
•    Capable of working from a ladder up to 8 ft high.
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•    Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, dust or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock.
•    The noise level in the work environment may be high.
