Marketing Communications Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Communications Specialist coordinates internal and external marketing communications initiatives.  Devises communication for items such as emails, brochures, newsletters, presentations, advertisements, press releases, catalogs, web sites and other publications.  Writes, copyedits, proofreads, and revises communications content.  Ensures marketing strategy is consistent and reflects the organization's strategic vision.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write, edit and proofread marketing content in support of assigned lines of business.
  • Leads marketing projects to ensure business strategies and plans are implemented effectively.
  • Measures and presents results of marketing efforts.
  • Adjusts the marketing plan as needed.
  • Supports ideas with research and experience.
  • Ensures organizational consistency in all aspects of communication including development, organizing and education.
  • Maintain and update internal and external web site content in support of assigned lines of business.
  • Develop and implement email marketing campaigns in support of assigned line of business’s annual marketing plans.
  • Ensure business stays within guidelines by communicating policy to achieve consistency amongst the overall strategic communication vision.
  • Collaborate with internal partners (primarily graphic designers) and external vendors to complete projects on-time and within budget, and track status of key projects (i.e. content development, graphic design, printing, translations).
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    4+ years of previous marketing experience required.
•    Experience with project management (from conception to completion) required.
•    Ability to provide professional portfolio and/or writing samples upon request.
•    Ability to travel as necessary.
•    High degree of proficiency (MAC) MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet applications.
•    Strong strategic and creative writing, editing skills.
•    Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, & planning skills. 
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
•    Familiarity and experience with digital and social media applications.
•    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
•    Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities in high project volume environment.
•    Ability to work with and influence peers and middle management.
•    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk, hear and see.  
•    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
