POSITION SUMMARY

The Enterprise Architect Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction for the creation, development, execution, and leadership of all aspects within their Functional Area. They will be responsible for the creation of an application vision and strategy that aligns with Global team goals and objectives.

This role is a Remote position for candidates located in EST and CST. 
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

SAP FI Architecture & Solution Ownership

  • Act as solution architect and design authority for SAP ECC FI (GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank Accounting, Tax, Closing).
  • Define and govern global finance design standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Ensure architectural alignment across FI with CO, MM, SD, FSCM, Treasury, and external systems.
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and technical debt reduction in ECC FI.

CoE Support Leadership (Run)

  • Lead SAP FI CoE support (L2/L3) operations across regions.
  • Own incident, problem, and change management for FI-related issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and drive permanent fixes.
  • Ensure SLA adherence, service quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Review and approve transports, configuration changes, and production fixes.

Project Delivery (Change & Transform)

  • Lead SAP FI workstreams for:
    • ECC rollouts and global template adoption
    • Legal entity carve-outs / divestments
    • Mergers and acquisitions
    • Enhancements, EHP upgrades, and interface changes
  • Own fit-gap analysis, solution design, functional specifications, and testing strategy.
  • Guide data migration, cutover planning, and go-live stabilization for FI.
  • Ensure seamless transition from project to CoE support (hypercare to run).

Financial Close, Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure robust period-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support statutory, management, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, audit, and internal control requirements.
  • Work closely with audit teams during internal and external audits.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary FI SME for Finance leadership, Controllers, and Shared Services.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
  • Manage system integrators and AMS partners; review deliverables and quality.
  • Provide thought leadership and advisory support to senior stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Mentor and guide FI consultants within the CoE.
  • Review solution designs, configurations, and functional documents.
  • Build succession plans and knowledge continuity within the FI team.
  • Drive adoption of documentation standards and reusable assets.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Functional Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP ECC FI:
    • General Ledger (New GL preferred)
    • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
    • Asset Accounting
    • Bank Accounting & Cash Management
    • Tax configuration and integration
  • Strong integration knowledge with:
    • MM (Procure-to-Pay)
    • SD (Order-to-Cash)
    • FSCM, IHC  and Treasury 

Technical & Process Knowledge

  • ECC configuration and design experience (no pure support-only profiles).
  • Experience with:
    • IDocs, interfaces, and third-party integrations
    • FI tables and data structures
    • Debugging and coordination with ABAP teams
  • Understanding of EHP upgrades and system enhancements.

Delivery & Leadership Experience

  • 10–18+ years of SAP experience, with 8+ years in SAP FI.
  • Prior experience as FI Lead / Architect in CoE or global support models.
  • Experience managing multi-country, multi-entity finance landscapes.
  • Strong exposure to ITIL-based support processes.

  • Exposure to S/4HANA Finance or ECC to S/4 readiness activities.
  • Experience in manufacturing or complex global enterprises.
  • Knowledge of Carveout programs and S/4 Conversion projects.
