Accountant Tax Indirect

POSITION SUMMARY
The Indirect Tax Accountant prepares various tax data elements incorporated into the compliance and other tax processes. Reconciles tax account transactions and helps maintain the tax software systems. Reviews fixed asset transactions for incorporation into tax processes. Engages in creating efficient tax business processes through continuous improvement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares tax data incorporated into the US tax returns and assists with implementing tax law changes.
- Facilitates information gathering and responses to tax authority inquiries as well as the maintenance of documentation.
- Captures and manipulates data from various sources to populate Thompson Reuters Tax Compliance Modules (OneSource Indirect Tax Engine and Certificate Manager)
- Prepares tax account activity to ensure compliance with Corporate policies and procedures.
- Reconciles tax accounts and liaises with controllers on identified issues.
- Prepares tax account journal entries.
- Prepares business license returns and applications.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 1+ years of Tax, Accounting, or Finance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
