POSITION SUMMARY

 

Mathews International is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join the company in a new leadership role.  The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will coordinate and consult all financial reporting, planning and analysis and assist the technology teams with identifying financial system enhancement opportunities related to management reporting, forecasting and budgeting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

 

  • Leads the development and analysis of the strategic plan financial projections, the annual operating budget, and monthly forecasts across the global enterprise.
  • Maintains harmonized process for internal planning, reporting and analysis, including a support network of FP&A subject matter experts across the organization.
  • Collaborates with the Enterprise IT organization and operations finance leadership to ensure the business processes and core systems support reporting requirements.
  • Maintains, monitors and reports key operational metrics across the organization.
  • Performs analysis of monthly actual financial statement variances.
  • Conducts periodic analyses of product line and customer profitability.
  • Sets cadence for periodic operational business reviews.
  • Produces analyses as necessary to identify areas to improve profitability and financial performance.
  • Produces analyses as necessary to support Corporate investor relations and business development activities.
  • Maintains financial oversight of Corporate functions, including Enterprise IT and Global Business Services.
  • Completes special projects and recommends actions to be taken.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) and/or CPA a plus
  • 10+ years progressive financial planning experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Experience with SAP and related reporting and planning applications (BPC, BI)
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with, present to and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
