POSITION SUMMARY

The Finance Leadership Development Program offers a 24-month rotational training program that combines formal training with experimental learning through job assignments focused on enhancing technical, analytical and decision making skills. Associates complete three, 8-month rotations to further develop their business knowledge, gain on-the-job experience, network in an inclusive, team-based environment and have exposure to senior leaders within the organization. Upon completion of a full-cycle rotation through Corporate Finance, Global Business Services and Operational Finance areas, the successful incumbents will be matched to identified positions to continue their career with Matthews International.

EXAMPLES OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will vary depending on the assigned rotational role. Examples may include:

•    Prepare a cost/benefit analysis to determine expected outcomes of a new product or program.
•    Analyze profit and loss statements and identify recommendations for areas to manage expenses.
•    Create business intelligence reports to support business decisions.
•    Develop improved methods for managing the balance sheet.
•    Support acquisition due diligence and/or integration activities.
•    Work with functional teams to drive efficiency through process re-engineering.
•    Review processes to drive effectiveness and efficiency of internal control processes.
•    Prepare expense and revenue forecasts and analyze trends and variances from plan and prior forecasts.
•    Work with leaders to prepare annual budgets.
•    Support internal and external auditors conducting an audit as well as testing controls of a business process.
•    Additional duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

•    Current senior or recent graduate of a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
•    High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics
•    Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
•    Demonstrated leadership experience
•    Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see
•    Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
•    The noise level in the work environment is usually low
