Global Process Owner - Requisition To Pay

The Global Process Owner- Requisition To Pay (R2P) is responsible for driving process harmonization, transactional efficiency, organizational capability, process performance, and a prioritized roadmap of all related initiatives. The position collaborates with key stakeholders and identifies opportunities to deliver new services where appropriate. The position provides stewardship to assure that quality, operating, financial, and customer satisfaction objectives are achieved. The position designs policy, process, key performance indicators, and master data attributes for the global Requisition To Pay process. The Global Process Owner has single-point accountability for operational excellence and is expected to drive change across the global enterprise.

  • Setting and managing the strategic agenda for driving step-function improvement of all processes within the Requisition To Pay process?
  • Own and manage the implementation of common business processes globally, aligning people, technology, and procedures?
  • Creating and executing implementation plans and projects to realize GBS efficiencies in the requisitioning, purchasing, vendor invoice handling, payment processing, vendor data management process?
  • Driving key decisions on process design, scope, budget, staffing, and implementation timing?
  • Actively manage GBS enablement projects (Esker A/P automation global rollout, POBO global rollout, Concur & E-global implementation, Ariba indirect catalog buying)?
  • Collaborate with leaders in business units, central functions, and customers/suppliers to achieve new levels of performance efficiency, compliance, value, and responsiveness?
  • Design and build an organization to manage process escalations, data integrity, KPI, and CPI, including staff sizing, job definitions, reporting structure, organization goals, and measures of success (SLAs, KPIs, etc.)?

  • Defining, measuring and benchmarking regional R2P processes. Authorizing regional or local variations of common processes and documenting standard operating procedures and internal controls.
  • Aligning organizational capability with common global processes, end-state vision, instituting governance mechanisms and refining responsibilities to sustain business performance improvement objectives.
  • Advocating and driving behavior change, transforming a decentralized “holding company” culture into a process-centric corporate function that will be delivered as-a-service via Global Business Services.
  • Monitoring and controlling achievement of internal service requirements defined by both formal Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentor, coach, train and develop the team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management, Accounting or Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years progressive Procurement, Business Operations experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years in a leadership role
  • Strategic thinker yet detail-oriented & comfortable operating in cross-functional dependencies that breed inefficiencies
  • Outstanding transformational, authoritative, & charismatic leadership skills – with a broad track record of implementing large-scale change or effectively operating within a matric organization
  • Expert level process & functional domain knowledge in requisitioning, purchasing, A/P, payment processing, SOx internal controls
  • Deep experience in managing change, influencing cultural shift, or driving transformational improvement
  • Experience managing or implementing SAP ERP, Ariba, Concur, SAP BI & collaborating with IT teams to optimize the use of commercial software tools
  • Experience optimizing process performance, using structured CPI/Lean methodologies & instituting KPI or process performance measures to sustain improvements
  • Global operational experience
  • Advanced problem-solving skills demonstrated on a global enterprise scale. Strong analytical, prioritizing, problem-solving, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation & reasoning, presentation)
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across borders and organizational boundaries, as well as internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management. Executive presence
  • Action-oriented & decisive. Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required
  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; and talk, hear and see.  
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
