POSITION SUMMARY

The Enterprise Architect Manager Production Planning (PP) is responsible for providing strategic direction for the creation, development, execution, and leadership of all aspects within their SAP Functional Area. They will be responsible for the creation of an application vision and strategy that aligns with Global SAP team goals and objectives and oversee Logistics related teams (Materials Mgt-MM, Warehouse Mgt-WM).

 

This leadership position requires the ability to develop effective global teams, manage multiple initiatives, build/maintain strong business relationships, and facilitate positive and solution-oriented discussions with key cross-functional business stakeholders.  The incumbent must understand supporting systems and organizational compliance requirements across multiple geographies globally.  This manager/leadership position requires a competent hands-on ability in their area of expertise.  The manager is expected to be a hands-on manager with the expectation that they are technically proficient in Production Planning and familiar with Materials Management (MM) and Warehouse Management (WM). The manager, at times, may perform a configuration where it is necessary.

 

The SAP Architect/Functional Manager will design and implement new information business systems, major modifications to existing systems, or maintenance to existing systems, primarily with the SAP applications and associated interface systems in order to provide management the ability to strategically direct its business to achieve competitive advantage on a continuous basis. This includes re-engineering of global business processes as required.

  • Responsible for architecting, designing, building and operating their area of functional responsibility while considering the entire SAP landscape.
  • Designing or re-engineer recognized “best practices” business processes that properly and efficiently utilize the existing SAP functionality & resources that provide a common business practice for use throughout Matthews International.
  • Maintaining SAP Functional Area of responsibility by understanding upkeep/enhancement requirements and designing changes to the existing solution.
  • Driving statement of partnership projects, ensuring they meet customers' needs and are operationally sound - Partner with the PMO team, participate in project request assessments to maintain enterprise-wide application alignment. 
  • Providing thought leadership and hands-on support to the Master data governance process within their area of SAP Functional responsibility.
  • Directing the efforts of a global services delivery that leverages long term growth for Matthews International.  This position will direct and support an organization that is a combination of internal employees and multiple partnerships with global systems vendors.
  • Providing on-going day-to-day problem resolution, support, and training for the SAP systems to the user departments throughout the global MATW enterprise
  • Configuring and document the global process template in the existing SAP environment. Maintain data standards necessary to facilitate SAP enabled process effectiveness

  • Analyzing industry, technology and market trends to introduce art-of-the-possible SAP capabilities to the enterprise
  • Acting as a systems engineer the SAP application/solution architecture, optimizing application landscape fit to emerging business needs.
  • Introducing industry-relevant best practices and act as a trusted advisor to the executive team regarding enterprise value improvement opportunities
  • Designing or re-engineering recognized “best practices” business systems that properly and efficiently utilize the SAP system and IT resources that provide a common business practice.
  • Viewed internally and externally as a functional expert and critical talent in maximizing leverage of IT assets
  • Acting as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent

Technical skills:

  • A Clear understanding of master data management – the homogeneity of master data, its impact on business and on master data management policy, and the ability to develop master data migration tools.
  • Strong implementation experience and knowledge of SAP PP / MRP processes and configuration
  • Strong hands-on configuration skills in PP, as well as cross-functional experience in FI to understand configuration set-up and data processing
  • Expert knowledge of different processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with master data, including variant configuration
  • An understanding of RF technology and devices
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
  • 10+ years progressive managing functional analysis, design, configuration, and project management in other functional areas experience required
  • 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
  • Prior managerial/supervisory experience
  • Periodic travel is required, including the potential for international travel
  • A high degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or professional services industries is required
  • Demonstrated experience in managing personnel located internationally and of diverse cultural backgrounds that may or may not be direct reports
  • Demonstrated experience managing external vendors for mutually beneficial relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of IT governance, operations, security practices, and audit compliance
  • Master at least 2 major sub module areas within the Functional Area of responsibility (PP and MM or WM or PS or VC), and good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and integration of multiple applications & other SAP Functional Areas
  • General knowledge of SAP ECC, BW/BObj, SuccessFactors, Concur, and SAP overall technology landscape
  • SAP experience required as a functional user, Project manager, or consultant – in particular, experience integrating legacy applications into an SAP landscape
