Matthews international is seeking a Senior Accountant with Fixed Asset Management experience to join our team.  The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering accounting transactions, with a focus on global asset management (i.e. PP&E, leased assets, goodwill and intangibles). This position applies fixed asset accounting principles and procedures to summarize and report upon financial information and prepare accurate and timely financial reports.



  • Identifying process and control improvement opportunities, with emphasis on global asset management processes (i.e. PP&E, leased assets, goodwill and intangibles), 
  • Working with managers to implement the appropriate modifications.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger data for global fixed assets, by performing recurring, routine and advanced accounting functions.




  • Key stakeholders and organizational leadership.
  • Domestic and international colleagues providing guidance with accordance with US GAAP for consolidation reporting related to fixed assets. 



  • Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Handling the monthly close process for fixed assets, including elimination and consolidation.
  • Reviewing and verifying accuracy of account balances and classifications with focus on global asset management accounts and analyzing  changes in account balances and making recommendations to correct errors as appropriate.
  • Executing a variety of financial reports to communicate results, trends and issues, incorporating statistical and ratio analysis as well as other necessary management accounting review for global fixed assets. 


  • You will assist with internal and external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
  • You will Secure financial information by completing database backups.
  • Your responsibility will be to protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • You will Implements and reviews SOX controls.
  • You may also supervise and guide lower-level accountants.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
  • 5+ years progressive Accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years progressive Accounting experience related to global asset management 
  • Experience and knowledge of ERP systems
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
