Sr Mgr - Global Accounting

POSITION SUMMARY
The Mgr – Global Accounting is responsible for global process improvement, project management, reporting & analysis, intercompany, fixed assets, statutory reporting and guiding the GL function across the business. This position will be responsible for financial management duties including completing complex projects and reports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Completes complex project plan deliverables on time per the Global Business Services (GBS) business case, including flexibility to adjust to meet changing executive requirements.
• Acts at the Center of Excellence as a subject matter expert in the areas that fall under Account to Report with GBS: GL Accounting, I/C Accounting, Cost Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting and Consolidations and presents commentary and business insight to help improve performance within the workstreams.
• Functional expert in business knowledge and acumen within the Account to Report workstreams to provide guidance and insights on business case/capital needs, trend analysis and metric related information.
• Accountable for the management and delivery of the overall Account to Report workstream within GBS, including analysis and modeling.
• Drives execution of action plans for Account to Report business plan and ad-hoc analysis generated for the company with respect to the GBS initiative.
• Responsible for global intercompany and global fixed asset accounting functions and manages the direct reports who handle those functions daily.
• Oversees how the statutory reporting is compiled for all international locations.
• Implements and administers a global Corporate close checklist and global account reconciliation solution.
• Presents and communicates to all levels of the business.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of direct reports and matrix project team to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops project team.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 8+ years in a leadership role
• Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
