The Strategic Advisor is responsible for driving the development and implementation of the short and long-term HR Strategy which will be in direct alignment with the needs of the business imperatives, and which will support the overall 5-year strategy and annual budget targets of the business unit.  This role ensures that human capital strategies deliver a competitive advantage.  It also assists the business in managing their talent portfolio to enable growth and optimize financial results.  

Our Strategic Advisor- HR serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) of the business unit, assisting them with effective decision-making on critical human capital programs (e.g., Diversity & Inclusion; coordination for training both commercial and operational teams and leadership).  This role will also manage a team of regional HR Business Partners and be responsible for seamless collaboration and communications with all other regional HR leaders across the globe.

  • Consulting with the Business Unit President and his or her ELT to assist them in becoming more effective as a newly formed leadership team when prioritizing both group and individual human capital decisions across the business unit.
  • Leading discussions to connect the business and talent strategies together by driving the right initiatives and activities to enable growth through the identification of critical roles, talent review feedback, professional development and training of our people, and succession planning at the executive level once the strategy and culture setting are complete.
  • Developing and monitoring KPIs through data analysis and supply/demand forecasting to assist the business to improve its decision making related to its employment initiatives (i.e., attraction, engagement, retention).  
  • Leading discussions to connect the business and talent strategies together by driving the right initiatives and activities to enable growth through the identification of critical roles, talent review feedback, professional development and training of our people, and succession planning at the executive level once the strategy and culture setting are complete.
  • Managing the global Performance Leadership and Inspired Contribution program across the business.  Assisting in the goal and objective setting process across the ELT and in the efforts to cascade these into the organization in a timely and systematic manner. 
  • Actively participating in organizational design that matches the business unit’s strategic vision.  Conducting strategic workforce planning related to high-level restructurings/layoffs/terminations (resignations and retirements).

  • Participating in the annual fiscal year budget and five-year strategic planning sessions to ensure all human capital investments and talent initiatives have a high ROI and are efficient and scalable.  
  • Participating actively in the monthly and quarterly Profit & Loss/Financial review meetings by identifying and implementing key human capital actions to help improve business results.
  • Supporting key change management and cultural transformation efforts.
  • Establishing a very close partnership with the HR Center of Excellence (CoE) to coordinate and adapt programs, processes, and systems where possible and warranted to support optimal business delivery.
  • Staying current and proactive on human capital and legislative trends and their corresponding impact on the business. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field (e.g., Finance, Business Administration).
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification highly desired.
  • 15+ years progressive human resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years in a leadership role.
  • Periodic travel either locally, regionally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Current passport and driver’s license necessary.
  • Inquisitive and curious, both on a human level as well as a strategic level.
  • Strategic, as it relates to organizational design principles, in a global business environment.
  • Level-headed and patient, with past experience in multi-cultural situations.
  • Highly developed critical thinking skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning) are a must.
  • Strong business acumen is required.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Must have the ability to deal with ambiguity in a complex global environment.
  • Must display excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate across vastly different approaches and cultures represented across our global enterprise.
  • Ability to work with and influence management and peers in order to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems required.  Basic proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors highly preferred.
  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Internet, and Teams applications.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
