POSITION SUMMARY

A Hybrid role, based from home and our Salford office, the Financial Reporting Accountant role is part of the wider GBS EMEA team, and is primarily responsible for all Statutory Accounting and Tax reporting for all Matthews International entities in UK, as well as some other European Countries, and overseeing the internal and external audit processes. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·       ETB and Statutory Accounts preparation for UK entities 

·       Overseeing Statutory Accounts preparation by outsourced partners in Netherlands, France, Spain and Poland. 

·       Contact point and management of annual external audit process for UK and other relevant European locations

·       Contact point and overseeing internal SOX audits for UK and other relevant European locations

·       VAT compliance, calculations and submission of returns  for UK and relevant European entities

·       Corporation tax submissions in conjunction with global tax team for UK and relevant European entities

·       Annual R&D, PSA tax returns and RSU compliance for UK entity 

·       ASC842 (US GAAP) IFRS lease accounting ledger maintenance

·       Balance sheet reconciliations for all tax and lease accounts and submission via Blackline

·       Overview of SOX controls in conjunction with Internal Audit Senior Director

·       Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

·       Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant, ideally 1-2yrs PQE

·       Prior Audit Practice experience/role

·       Extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Excel

·       Knowledge and prior use of SAP/Caseware/Alteryx preferable 

·       Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

·       Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).

·       Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

·       Proficient in English language (written & verbal)
