POSITION SUMMARY

The Tactical Buyer enables the procurement of products and services. May support global procurement requirements. Supports the development/achievement of relevant system/process KPIs as well as ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

•    Executes the purchasing of goods and services (develop and process Purchase Orders) for the division within the defined system.
•    Works to optimize utilization of SAP to drive procurement efficiencies, lower cost and working capital.
•    Collaborate with Global Business Services (GBS) to ensure compliance with all practices as well as leverage global purchasing scale.
•    Provides support to the business for supplier/vendor onboarding, development, quality improvement and related activities.
•    Identifies opportunities for supplier consolidation, leveraged purchasing opportunities, and supplier involvement in new product development/continuous improvement across the division.
•    Upholds contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
•    Effectively supports plant and departmental management from a procurement standpoint for those locations assigned to position.
•    Assists with the maintenance of commodity and material metrics for the division.
•    Additional duties as assigned.

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
•    6+ years progressive supply chain/procurement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
•    Experience with transactions in SAP (highly preferred) or related ERP system.
•    High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
•    Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
•    Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
•    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
•    Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
•    Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
•    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
