MEMs Device Mask Designer

Brand:  Industrial Automation
Company:  Matthews International Corporation
Line of Business:  MAS Division

Corvallis, OR, US, 97333

Matthews Industrial Automation, a division of Matthews International, has a great opportunity for a professional product design engineer.  Supporting our facility in Corvallis Oregon, the Design and Product Engineer will design masks for use in the fabrication of novel multilayer MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) devices.  Primarily working from our facility, the position will offer a hybrid work model after initial training.  Matthews offers a very competitive compensation package, benefits from day one, a progressive discretionary time off program, and opportunity for career growth.

The job entails taking device descriptions and dimensions and creating drawings in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) system.  New designs will use L-Edit (will train on this application).  Once reviewed and approved by design and processes engineers these drawings are sent to the masks shop for mask fabrication.  Masks are then used to fabricate MEMS devices at a MEMS foundry.  The job involves the development of design tools to aid in parameterized feature placement and creation of design rule checking algorithms and macros. Design activities are more like mechanical drafting than IC mask layout.  Maintenance of design history and design evolution is critically important.
