POSITION SUMMARY

The Director – Product Management will be responsible for product strategy and roadmaps across multiple business critical systems and working with a world class team to develop industry leading ideas and to turn these ideas into live products.  You and your team will be responsible for crafting the vision, defining, and defending product roadmaps, and driving those roadmaps from business requirements through post-launch analytical analysis in an agile environment to determine if success metrics are met while elevating the product management practice.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aligns product strategy with business goals to create a cohesive product roadmap encompassing the product portfolio.
  • Defines and communicates product portfolio vision and strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Directs development of comprehensive industry insights through market, competitive and customer research to derive actionable product insights.
  • Identifies emerging market opportunities for new products and develops business cases and go-to-market strategies.
  • Manages new product planning activities such as ideation, scoping, prioritization, and definition. 
  • Drives continual product improvements and lifecycle management activities for mature products.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in product planning, development and launch with strong collaboration with engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and other functions.
  • Defines and tracks key product performance metrics to meet business goals.
  • Manages financial and market performance of portfolio, including unit and revenue forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Creates product positioning and messaging to articulate value propositions for portfolio.
  • Manages strategic relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Coordinates product launch activities across multiple product lines. 
  • Owns global portfolio pricing strategy and plans.
  • Operationalizes product management best practices.
  • Collaborates and creates alignment between teams and stakeholders.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished
  • Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops team.
  • Works closely with leadership to define the growth agenda and to develop plans supporting key initiatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive product management experience,
  • Experience with hardware, software and firmware products.
  • Industrial automation experience preferred.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
