POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Product Management plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our industrial automation product portfolio. This individual is responsible for leading a team of product managers across multiple product lines, crafting a bold product vision, developing actionable strategies, and ensuring flawless execution through operational excellence. This leader will not only mentor talent and align cross-functional teams but will also serve as a driving force behind new product planning, early investment prioritization, and continuous portfolio health monitoring. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in industrial automation, product lifecycle management, and a passion for translating market and industry insights into competitive, high-impact solutions.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aligns product strategy with business goals to create a cohesive, multi-year roadmap across the global product portfolio.
  • Defines and communicates product portfolio vision and strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Directs development of comprehensive industry insights through market, competitive, and customer research to derive actionable product insights.
  • Identifies emerging market opportunities for new products and leads business case development and go-to-market planning.
  • Manages new product planning activities including ideation, scoping, prioritization, and definition.
  • Drives continual product improvements and lifecycle management for mature products through portfolio health dashboards.
  • Partners with Program Management to harmonize Agile and Stage-Gate methodologies across the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Supply Chain on S&OP/S&OE integration.
  • Leads EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) implementation across the team, including scorecards, Level 10 meetings, and accountability structures.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in product planning, development, and launch, with strong collaboration across engineering, marketing, operations, sales, and customer service.
  • Defines and tracks product KPIs and portfolio performance metrics to support business goals.
  • Manages unit and revenue forecasting, financial analysis, and market performance tracking.
  • Creates value-driven product positioning and messaging in collaboration with marketing.
  • Coordinates launch activities across multiple product lines and geographies.
  • Owns global portfolio pricing strategy and partners with finance, sales, and marketing for alignment.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key customers and partners to gather insights and drive product adoption.
  • Operationalizes product management best practices, standardizes tools and templates, and ensures scalable processes.
  • Collaborates across teams and functions to ensure product strategy alignment and flawless execution.
  • Mentors, coaches, and develops product managers, fostering a high-trust, performance-oriented culture.
  • Works closely with leadership to define the growth agenda and contribute to strategic planning and execution.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive product management experience, including 5+ years leading teams in B2B or industrial automation environments.
  • Experience with hardware, software and firmware products.
  • Strong experience managing multiple product lines, from strategy through lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale product operations, with strong process orientation.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and leadership skills in global, matrixed environments.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in pricing, forecasting, and business case development.
  • Proficiency with JIRA, SAP, Power BI, Salesforce, and product management tools like Aha! or Confluence.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS 365 Applications..
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
