POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Owner will manage the link between market needs, the technical team and business unit in an agile new product development process. The incumbent will represent the voice of the customer and deliver a sustainable, impactful solution to the market.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns and build consensus around product direction.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the product vision and strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
  • Leads the development of products as validated by Product Management, .
  • Translate complex technical requirements into easily understandable language for stakeholders.
  • Conduct user research, analyze feedback and incorporate user insights into product development.
  • Elicit and document user stories, acceptance criteria and product requirements.
  • Manage and prioritize product backlog, ensuring alignment with user needs and business value.
  • Lead agile ceremonies and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, effectively communicating product development and delivery.
  • Participate in mapping business processes as it related to the product and its delivery.
  • Develop and manage product release plans, coordinating with development, marketing, V&V and other relevant teams.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to product development and delivery.
  • Define and track key performance indicators and incorporate user insights into the product.
  • Assists with ongoing systems support, such as software upgrades and installs.
  • Lead problem resolution to ensure customers receive prompt and efficient service.
  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, business administration, Information Systems or Engineering
  • 3 + years of previous Product Owner experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Agile Product Development.  Experience in SAFe is a plus. Embedded products a plus.
  • Proficient in using Jira (or similar agile project management software) for issue tracking, sprint planning and reporting.
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
