POSITION SUMMARY

Matthews Marking Systems!  Our Product Identification brands provide marking and coding solutions, including a full line of printing technologies, consumables, and software to meet branding, traceability, and regulatory compliance needs for industrial and consumer products.

ROLE SUMMARY
As a key member of our Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager plans, coordinates, and manages the execution of various project tasks from Definition to Launch, ensuring adherence to program performance targets such as timing, budget, quality, and achievement of critical milestones.  This role establishes project plans, risk registers, regularly monitors and reports on progress, and oversees the overall execution of the project.  This role will also act as a Team Coach/Scrum Master within our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.  The Project Manager/Team Coach interacts with various departments to ensure the teams are aligned and on track to achieve project deliverables.

This full-time role is offered as hybrid with flexibility for some remote work.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collects, analyzes and understands project requirements.
  • Develops and maintains project plans, including documentation of project scope, key objectives, critical milestones, schedules, and project performance dashboards.
  • Acts as Team Coach/Scrum Mast for Agile Scrum teams.
  • Facilitates risk identification and development of mitigating actions.
  • Defines problems, performs Root Cause Analysis and suggests corrective actions.
  • Analyzes the project's cost structure and any significant deviations from the approved budget.
  • Collaborates with other teams such as Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing in project definition, planning and execution.
  • Manages day-to-day progress of projects and serves as the main contact for internal project teams.
  • Conducts project reviews and presents progress updates to key stakeholders and leadership
  • Attends project planning meetings as needed; serves as subject matter expert regarding workflow, processes, capacity, timelines, etc.
  • Assists with the implementation of project management tools and processes.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related STEM fields.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • Professional Project Management or Agile Scrum training /certification is preferred.
  • 4+ years of previous Project Management, Product Development, or Continuous Improvement.
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Microsoft Project.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and budgeting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
