POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Business & Pricing Analyst supports pricing strategy and business intelligence. This role ensures pricing accuracy, contract compliance, and alignment with ERP systems while collaborating with Sales, Finance, and Product teams.
Key responsibilities include supporting SAP pricing automation, conducting margin and contract analysis, generating performance reports, and assisting with strategic planning and execution associated with business improvement. The role also champions data integrity, process improvements, and cross-functional alignment to enhance pricing visibility and business decision-making. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with experience in ERP systems and reporting tools.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates with customer service on pre-need pricing accuracy for adherence to current and legacy contracts.
  • Partner with sales operations leadership to ensure sales rep and customer compliance.
  • Maintain and manage the inventory of various policies and track contract compliance with insurance carriers to ensure appropriate and accurate reimbursement.
  • Manage the submission and documentation required by regulatory agencies for licensing and coordinate their data requirements for their annual audit.
  • Champion SAP development efforts to automate and enhance pricing automation and accuracy.
  • Leverage current reporting tools and collaborate on developing additional analytics to enhance the visibility of pricing decisions to drive profit maximization.
  • Evaluates and supports the optimization of contracts to maximize contract revenue and ensure alignment to established revenue recognition policies.
  • Analyze business processes and devise strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee business analysis initiatives and propose strategies to enhance profitability and operational success.
  • Develop new business models and strategies, communicate their impact to management, and create monthly performance reports.
  • Manage sales quoting tools and price lists to ensure alignment with ERP systems.
  • Ensure all pricing actions, updates, and new product launches are correctly integrated into pricing tools.
  • Drive improvements in pricing and contractual documentation processes.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX compliance requirements and business intelligence warehousing best practices.
  • Strengthen internal controls and standardize compliance protocols to enhance data security and reporting accuracy.
  • Explore new technology for business improvement and implement when appropriate.
  • Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (Includes pricing portion)
  • Provide insight and reporting of customer historical sales data to support Sales Executives with territory and customer categorization management.
  • Identify customer churn, product usage trends, and pricing optimization opportunities.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and business summaries to aid leadership in strategic decision-making.
  • Establish benchmarks and KPIs to measure business health and pipeline opportunities.
  • Conduct Gross Margin (GM) analysis and financial modeling to support pricing decisions.
  • Analyze customer blanket purchase orders, contracts, and master sales agreements to ensure margin protections and price optimization.
  • Audit discounting authority and maintain necessary documentation for compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product Management teams to develop, refine, and implement annual, off-cycle, and new product launch pricing actions.
  • Identify and develop pricing initiatives that drive revenue growth, enhance margins, and contribute to business profitability.
  • Process Improvements and Data Integrity
  • Continuously review and enhance data sources to drive business intelligence and ensure data accuracy.
  • Implement actionable recommendations to improve data confidence and usability across the organization.
  • Work cross-functionally to harmonize data and ensure KPIs and reporting are aligned and adopted across departments.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years progressive pricing or financial analysis experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel either locally or nationally may be required
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems 
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
