POSITION SUMMARY

Establish procedures to perform a variety of engineering work in the design and startup of PLC controlled systems for material handling equipment. Must have a fundamental understanding of equipment, business and customer requirements that drive the design of the technical solutions and participates in all phases of product development lifecycle, including the analysis, design, electrical designs, installation support, electrical installation debugging and support of other complimentary engineering staff associated with the electrical hardware engineering. Resolve basic site requirement changes, and support solutions to complete designed equipment installation. Receive company support both on site and remotely to accomplish work. System training is provided to increase PLC knowledge to learn to program PLC's that control conveyor systems and robotics within the customer's DC and warehouse.

 

Travel to job sites: either locally, nationally, and/or internationally 65-70% of the time (all company paid, you keep all airline miles, hotel and rental car points). 

 

May be on site for a 10 days on, 4 day offs, as necessary. MAS will fly you home for your off days! Opportunity for overtime, and benefits from day one (direct hire).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzes project requirements and performs basic controls troubleshooting to support equipment operations.
  • Interfaces with internal engineering, project management and customers.
  • Supports electrical installation via interfacing to electrical installers.
  • Debugs electrical installation of controls and motor components of limited complexity.
  • Travels to job sites 65-70% of the time.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0- 2 years related work experience 
  • Regular travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally is required.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
     

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk, hear and see.  
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to travel to and from job site on a regular basis.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.
