Manufacturing Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Technician processes product, parts, and/or materials using controlled processing equipment, hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and adhesives to specific standards in a safe and efficient manner to production standards and schedules within a semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility.
           
            

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform functions associated with all wafer production including operations, equipment, process and training.
  • Reports quality and production concerns and issues to Supervisor.
  • Work is somewhat complex and is performed within narrowly defined parameters, although close attention to detail and awareness of nonstandard results is expected.
  • Collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line equipment adjustment and ensure process optimization.
  • Running lots in a qualitative way.
  • Setting up equipment and processes to run tool monitors and production.
  • Strict adherence to process specifications is required with the ability to use factory systems to make decisions on production operations.
  • Prepare and deliver pass down to the next shift in current factory systems.
  • Cross trains on all work stations within the department.
  • May participate in safety forums and Emergency Response Team as required.
  • Conducts operator-level preventative maintenance on all assigned tools, jigs, and fixtures according to the Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
  • Operates assigned equipment or tools safely in accordance with company and OSHA safety programs and rules.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of previous assembly experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.  Cleanroom experience highly desired.
  • Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Competent analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, & planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Understanding and application of basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Spend the majority of work time (more than 90% less break time) in a cleanroom environment working on toolsets, processing wafers, and standing or sitting for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary and work on a night or day shift compressed workweek schedule. 

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.
