POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Business Relationship Manager acts as the primary partner and liaison between IT and the assigned Line of Business leadership stakeholders to enable the best match of information technology and business needs. This role facilitates changes to existing technology, evaluates new technical options, and leads the implementation of services supporting an assigned Line of Business.  In short, this position coordinates all IT service offerings, including Enterprise Infrastructure, Security and Applications as well as Line of Business specific IT solutions and activities for a portion of the Matthews business on behalf of corporate IT.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with business leadership to design, build and implement the IT strategy which supports the strategic and budgetary plans of the assigned Line of Business, 
  • Provides technology vision, enabling innovation and understands the IT trends that can create business value. Stays abreast of emerging technologies that will effectively enhance company technology vision and strategy. 
  • Maintain trusted advisor role as the enterprise technology liaison for the Line of Business. 
  • Create strong and effective internal partnerships to ensure client needs are met and projects stay within scope, budget timeline, quality, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 
  • Oversee the Line of business technology project portfolio, including serving as Project Sponsor, Owner or Manage as needed, while ensuring adherence to the IT Governance model focused on assigning / prioritizing IT resource capacity to projects which will produce the highest value to the business. 
  • Supports the development of business cases for new initiatives / projects, and operational IT budgets for the assigned LOB.
  • Maintain ownership of service and stakeholder relationships for all Enterprise IT services (infrastructure and application) at a Line of Business level, including managing business stakeholders’ expectations and requirements for delivery of IT services, acting as single point of contact for all IT service and support. 
  • Maintain ownership of all Line of Business specific IT systems and process offerings supported by either an internal IT resources (reporting up this role) or via 3rd Party vendor solutions.
  • Educates stakeholders with regards to IT service offerings; coach business leaders on how to communicate with IT to obtain services needed to improve business performance, and serve as an escalation point in the delivery of IT services.
  • Partner with Service Providers for the performance of the LOB specific IT service function. Ensure proactive maintenance of the technology environment, including compliance with governance and regulatory requirements and security management. 
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of resources, both in a direct reporting or matrix structure, to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Sets high and clearly defined standards for team(s). Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops team members 
  • Promote continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and quality improvement methodologies. Assess the need for any system or process changes (minor or significant) and make recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 10+ years progressive Information Technology experience, infrastructure and / or application management, leading small teams and working with business leadership
  • 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
  • Experience performing IT services for a manufacturing and/or technology based company preferred.  
  • Experience with B2B integration technology.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management & planning skills
  • Experience in a minimum of 2 core IT disciplines (networking, systems & storage, data center, desktop computing, ecommerce, enterprise applications) and a track record of effectively deploying them to drive value.  
  • Solid understanding and application, hosting, network, and cyber security.
  • Experience with SAP in a manufacturing industry is a plus. Some experience with global / enterprise applications preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Ability to work well proactively in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Excels at building relationship, negotiating, and solving problems

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.  
  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • To a great extent this job can be performed remotely (work from home).  Occasional travel would be beneficial to develop stakeholder relationships and improve the understanding of deployed technology and business requirements throughout the locations within the assigned LOB.
