Sr Analyst - Supply Chain

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will collect, analyze, and report status for new product introduction, specific commodities, procurement programs and initiatives as assigned. This position is responsible for sourcing strategy development, supplier negotiations and supplier management. They will provide leadership to the product groups assigned and help set procurement strategy, negotiation guidance and assistance. Will occasionally need to perform transactional purchasing activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with Engineering and Product Management, and Supplier Quality to help define requirements, collect quotes, and select suppliers.
- Supports NPI (New Product Innovation) projects and teams from an Operations and Procurement perspective.
- Responsible for finding suppliers, collecting bids and custom ordering NPI parts.
- Collect, monitor, and report market trends and data as they relate to our major materials and services outlining key focus points in helping drive procurement decisions. Assemble procurement and market related information in support of strategic plans and budgets to support personal growth and enhance position.
- Evaluate suppliers based on qualitative and quantitative data gathered regarding performance, quality, competitive pricing, and service level metrics. Review this data periodically with the suppliers to establish goals and perform fact-based analysis to allow for objective decision making, including total cost of ownership (TCO) opportunities.
- Compile data in support of identifying strategic sourcing opportunities; initiate RFPs (Requests for Proposal) for inviting material and service providers to compete for business and report on responses to RFPs for review by procurement, management, and operations for final business award.
- Conduct research on material and service providers pertaining to alternate sources and new innovations along with evaluating potential risks.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory objectives and cost reductions.
- Develop statistical reports related to materials and services on a quarterly or annual basis as required.
- Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodities in a cost-effective manner.
- Problem solves quality, delivery, or design issues on existing orders that plant personnel cannot resolve.
- Able to perform tactical purchasing duties as needed.
- Support SAP initiatives as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or related field
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
- 5+ years progressive Sourcing/Procurement and Supplier Management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Semi-conductor experience, both wafer and assembly.
- Experience with New Product Introduction.
- Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external customers.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Experience with MRP systems (SAP preferred).
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills .
- Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
