This role supervises a Production Team engaged in one or more production activities in a union environment, such as production line painting & retouching, assembly, metal fabrication or quality control. The Supervisor – Production partners with multiple departments to ensure the production line remains on schedule and the department on budget. This position manages and makes adjustments to schedules, workloads, and resourcing as needed to ensure deadlines are met and the optimal performance of the team. The Supvr – Production is responsible for resolving the most complex production problems using strong technical expertise and a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions while working within the guidelines of the CBA.


  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.

  • Additional duties as assigned.  May be assigned to multiple departments as needed.

  • Attends any pre-production meetings and/or interacts with multiple departments directly as necessary.

  • Ensures high quality standards in all production are met as required.

  • Works closely with employees, managers and other departments as needed to ensure production deliverables are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis based upon targets established for department and plant.

  • Maintains a good understanding of department equipment to identify problems and to reduce downtime.

  • Develops sound and effective production solutions to issues that impact a department or plant.

  • Creates strong and effective internal partnerships to ensure plants needs are met and production stay within scope, budget, timeline, quality and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Proactively leads the development of improved production processes to better serve the plant and achieve financial targets.

  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.


  • Follows-up with direct reports to ensure jobs are on target for established hours and deadlines and adhering to company policies and procedures.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Production or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • 6+ years of previous managing production teams experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Occasional) travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required
  • Prior supervisory experience in a union environment is preferred.
  • High/Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
