POSITION SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Engineer develops, plans, and implements necessary improvement projects to produce and deliver products for Operations. This position serves as a project manager and technical resource to other employees as well as assisting with training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and implements production and processing methods and controls to meet customer and quality standards in the most cost efficient manner.
Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems.
Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Reviews proposals from outside vendors regarding the purchase of new and/or the modernization of existing production/processing equipment.
Solves complex problems through decision making, extensive research, analysis and evaluation of multiple variables.
Additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

•   Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
•   Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
•   6+ years of previous continuous improvement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•   Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
•   High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
•   Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
•   Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
•   Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
•   Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
•   Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
•   Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
•   Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
•   Ability to work overtime as necessary.
