POSITION SUMMARY

The Mgr – Production effectively leads the production team to develop and/or adapt processes, policies, and workflows with a goal of continuously improving efficiency, accuracy, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction. This role partners with various departments and teams to work collaboratively in managing production projects and ensuring strategic goals are met and exceeded.


 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all phases of the production timeline, such as collecting project requirements, establishing a production plan, confirming cost structures, establishing project structure, understanding the material requirements, and overseeing the execution of the plan. 

 

  • Works closely with project teams, and clients as needed, to ensure production deliverables follow project specifications and meet client needs. 

 

  • Develops effective production solutions to issues that impact a department or client. 
  • Leads the development of improved processes to better serve clients and achieve financial targets.
     
  • Follows up with direct reports and production coordinators to ensure jobs are on target for deadlines and adhere to company policies and procedures. 

 

  • Manages the respective portion(s) of the operating budget. Ensures budget targets are met or efficiency expectations are surpassed where possible. 

 

  • Supports Company’s profitability efforts by encouraging and actively enabling innovation through production activities and focusing team members on the efficient, accurate and timely completion of the assigned production activities. 

 

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. 

 

  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. 

 

  • Ensures orders are produced and shipped within timing standard. 

 

  • Identifies potential risks and establishes plan to mitigate those risks while managing cost implications, time constraints, and customer quality standards. 

 

  • Proactively communicates project status across necessary teams, clients and departments. 

 

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field 

 

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred 

 

  • 8+ years progressive production experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience  

 

  • 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect) 

 

  • Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required. 

 

  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications 

 

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills  

 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

 

  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts 

 

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients 

 

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

 

  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management 

 

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
