POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable PART - TIME Delivery Professional to join our team at our Hamden, CT Service Center.
Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets and other products to our funeral home customers. This position will be responsible for the delivery of new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday. Saturdays when needed. Estimated 25 - 29 hours weekly.
Shift Hours: 6am - 11am. Our Drivers are home late mornings every day.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Delivering product to Funeral Homes in New Vehicle Fleet.
• Loads trucks for delivery.
• Prep product for delivery.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Previous delivery driver experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must have current driver’s license (CDL is NOT required)
- Ability to pass a DOT Physical, Drug Test and MVR Check.
- Maintain a safe driving record, demonstrating responsible and cautious driving behavior.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment may be high.
