POSITION SUMMARY
The New York Funeral Solutions Consultant sells company products, services and solutions in NY, Western MA, Western CT US territory. This role develops sales leads and creates new customers, builds business relationships with new and existing customers utilizing industry knowledge, products, services and solutions offered to the customer and the families they serve.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Travels throughout assigned territory to call on current and prospective customers.
• Demonstrates all company solutions using samples, catalogs and digital tools to emphasize benefits and differentiators.
• Presents pricing and credit terms and prepares extended term sales agreements. Facilitates credit applications and assists in collection of past due accounts. Reconciles billing and payment discrepancies.
• Occasionally negotiates date and time of deliveries to customers, based on knowledge of production, delivery schedules and service center policy.
• Datamine's catalog of prospective customers for sales growth opportunities.
• Develops and maintains relationships with decision makers, purchasing contacts, and support personnel.
• Prepares business transaction reports and maintains expense accounts.
• Coordinates customer training and development.
• Enters customer and sales data for all current and prospective customers into a CRM software application.
• Is involved in the resolution of potential delivery issues.
• Successfully and consistently achieves sales targets and company success drivers.
• Sells and promotes Merchandising Systems and the accompanying products.
• Instructs customers in use of merchandising systems.
• Attends state and regional trade shows.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
• 6+ years of progressive business experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Occasional overnight travel either locally, nationally, may be required
• High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite (Teams, Outlook Excell) and internet applications. Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
• Strong consultative, analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with company peers,colleagues and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Regularly required to drive long distances.
• Occasionally assist in delivery of products and installation of showrooms.
• Maintain a well-organized home office and personal automobile.
Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
