We are currently seeking a Manager of EH&S that will be responsible for the planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining a variety of environmental, health and safety programs at our bronze manufacturing plant to ensure the highest possible degree of safety and regulatory compliance. Your active involvement in our safety and environmental culture assures that all of our employees return home safely each day.

  • Developing and implementing programs and policies for monitoring and preventing physical hazards at the facility?
  • Surveying, compiling, and analyzing data relating to occupational and environmental safety and health issues such as chemical exposure, noise, dust, vapors, mists, solvents, behaviors, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health?
  • Designing and implementing technical safety improvement programs associated with facility risk factors and asset base, including but not limited to fire safety standards and risk mitigation strategies?
  • Developing and implementing environmental and safety programs and systems to track and evaluate worker injuries?
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of new developments in industry and government regulations?
  • Implementing and improving Behavioral Based Safety and Dupont STOP programs?

  • Recommending and implementing control measures for exposure to hazardous materials and conditions.
  • Performing measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations with corrective action follow-through.
  • Providing technical guidance to management and all hourly employees regarding health-related conditions as well as preventative actions.
  • Completing, submitting, and maintaining all required environmental reporting to federal, state and local agencies.
  • Implementing and championing lean process improvements to drive safety & health excellence through culture change (behavior-based methods).
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentors, coaches, trains and develops employees in the importance of EH&S activities.
  • Providing follow-up to and evaluation of worker's compensation claims.
  • Managing incident investigation and incident root cause analysis processes including reporting and managing worker's compensation claims as appropriate.
  • Developing and facilitating training for workers on issues related to health and safety.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety and Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years progressive experience in implementing lean/CI as well as behavior-based safety initiatives; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Periodic travel may be required
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see. 
  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
