Mechanical Engineer Intern

POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineering Intern provides administrative support to the Engineering Maintenance team and assists with special projects such as our Thermo Reclamation Project. They will also be involved with our Control Boxes, Control wiring, PLC programing, and the CMS system, . This internship provides an opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of various engineering & maintenance functions. The Intern will be utilized to update company drawings, and work with maintenance personnel on daily tasks and projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Update / Create / Modify company drawings in AutoCAD
• Assist with the improvement of various processes
• Work with spare parts inventory and layout
• Develop Preventative Maintenance for equipment
• Work with maintenance on daily tasks and projects
• Develop conceptual drawings and layouts for projects as well as budgetary project cost, cost savings, and ROI.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Current enrollment in undergraduate degree program in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering related field at a recognized college or university
• Ability to occasionally work a day on the weekend.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary. (Only for hourly employees)
• Must have current driver’s license. (Only for employees who drive company vehicle)

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. (Standard is 10lbs, modify as needed)
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.
