Master - Warehouse Worker

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Lead Warehouse Associate to join our team at our Harrisburg, PA Distribution HUB.  

Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets, as well as urns, memorial jewelry and other products to our funeral home customers.  This position will be responsible for working in a Lead role within our Warehouse, assist with the unloading and loading of new caskets onto and off our vehicles as well as working with management in supervising warehouse personnel in their day to day responsibiliities. 

Our Lead Warehouse Associate can expect to work 40+ hours a week.    This position will have a starting hourly pay rate of $22-hourly. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Loads and unloads materials into or from vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
•    Provides work direction to warehouse workers daily to increase warehouse efficiency and accuracy. 
•    Identifies issues or problems and assists in troubleshooting and recommends resolution. 
•    Scans product upon arrival and records data to maintain accurate inventory.
•    Unload product and place in appropriate storage facility within warehouse.
•    Assists in tracking warehouse staffing needs and schedules and related documentation. 
•    Maintains and enforces company Safety and Security policies. 
•    Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of previous warehouse experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous Leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
• Ability to work 8+ hour shifts being on your feet, walking, pushing, pulling products.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
•    Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•    Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
•    The noise level in the work environment may be high.
