POSITION SUMMARY
Matthews Memorialization is seeking an energetic sales consultant to grow a strategic product category. The Technology Solutions Sales Consultant will drive adoption of new and existing technology products and solutions, helping customers solve specific problems in their business.
Matthews continues to invest in industry-leading solutions that help transform the way that families plan for end-of-life memorial services. Our suite of Technology Solutions are utilized by funeral service providers to create more meaningful experiences for families and improve efficiency in operating their business.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Responsibilities
- Achieve revenue goals by closing new business transactions from lead sources generated internally by our direct sales team or through outbound marketing initiatives
- Engage in consultative selling techniques that help customers identify opportunities to improve their business by applying Matthews Memorialization technology and other product solutions
- Successfully link company capabilities to customer goals
- Complete contract documentation to finalize sales process and obtain buy-in from all stakeholders at client locations
- Collaborates with client implementation team to ensure successful configuration, implementation and training
- Is knowledgeable on all product offerings and continuously updates product knowledge to maintain a high level of proficiency
- Work collaboratively with other functional areas of the company to resolve customer issues and drive customer satisfaction
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree + 4 years of B2B sales experience. Preference given to selling software or business services. Experience and knowledge of funeral service operations will be helpful
- Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of prospecting and lead generation, customer needs analysis, listening, objection handling, negotiation, and closing skills of new business
- Must have strong telephone and online selling skills
- Is comfortable talking to a wide range of decision-makers.
- Strong phone presence and excellent verbal and written communication
- Able to get the most out of our internal marketing programs, generate referrals and work in a team environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage many opportunities simultaneously
- Knowledge of contact management tools such as Salesforce.com. Proficiency with MS Office

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
