Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

1st Shift Maintenance Technician- Starting Salary up to $32 per hour depending on experience

The Maintenance Technician performs skilled maintenance and repair services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, and building systems. The primary emphasis for this position is the performance of a variety of maintenance tasks, including problem diagnosis and resolution. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responds to maintenance calls and delivers efficient solutions to issues impacting production.
• Repairs and troubleshoots equipment and systems that may involve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
• Tests machinery or systems after repair to ensure successful completion.
• Observes all safety rules and regulations to prevent injury to self or others.
• Ensures a safe working environment for self and others on the team.
• Assists other maintenance technicians with repairs as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).  Additional education a plus.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing maintenance role.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, shop math skills and troubleshooting ability required
• Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, & planning skills

• Basic verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Working conditions are comparable to a traditional manufacturing environment.  Work environment may be indoors or outside.  Hot and/or cold environments will be encountered n this role.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high in certain areas of the plant.
