POSITION SUMMARY

The Package Manufacturing Technician ensures that mock-ups, sales sample, influencer boxes and other types of packaging are constructed accurately and effectively meeting and/or exceeding client expectations. The technician works with a team of like technicians in a manufacturing atmosphere. They are responsible for completing their stage in the manufacturing process, ensuring the accuracy of material prior to release for next steps in the project lifecycle. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assembles materials as instructed to build a wide variety of sample packages.
  • Ensures precise use of tools required to create professional and realistic looking packages based upon customer needs. 
  • Follows technical requirements and standards including government food handling standard guidelines.
  • Checks for accuracy and consistency when constructing multiple packages.  
  • Ensures projects are completed in a timely fashion and scheduled priorities are met.
  • May collaborate with package designer and recommend effective processes for creating a particular package.
  • Supports high quality training of new technicians to ensure optimum efficiency and performance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma (recommended)
  • 0 – 3 years of experience of packaging in a Manufacturing industry
  • High degress of manual dexterity
  • Enthusiasm to learn. Display an eagerness to build their knowledge and are willing to put in the effort to develop their skills.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Specific physical abilities required by this job include the effective use of hands for cutting, taping, gluing, folding, and constructing a wide variety of materials.
