POSITION SUMMARY

The Master Pre-Media Technician electronically prepares production-ready art and copy files for various commercial printing processes. Material is screen printed or digitally imaged based on job requirements, customer specifications and other job information. This role operates computer and other peripheral equipment to complete job assignments.

 

PLEASE NOTE: This open role is for our part-time Flex Force bench. As a Flex Force employee, you’ll work on a project-by-project basis and your hours will vary based on business needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares color separated reprographics for advanced level print projects using computer graphics software.
  • Organizes and verifies job specifications and digital files for print jobs. 
  • Creates and rebuilds artwork files for production needs of specific team accounts.
  • Determines size and arrangements of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space, design, and production requirements.
  • Prepares sample (proofs - printed and electronic) of finished layout for internal and external approval.
  • Reads the provided order information and reviews completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data.
  • Exchanges files with production sampling team for die cut and routed items. 
  • Works on and completes multiple orders and projects in the allotted time throughout the day.
  • Contributes to manufacturing planning meetings to verify art and production plans.
  • Follows standard operating procedures and practices to ensure consistent and uniform quality of files. 
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to increase knowledge, skills and abilities.  
  • May mentor and advise more junior team members.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts, Marketing or related field.
10+ years of previous pre-media experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
High degree of proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and all imagesetter processes including high-end PDF editing software.
Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and planning skills. 
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
Ability to work overtime as necessary.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.  
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
