POSITION SUMMARY

 

SGK is seeking a Senior Manager, Standards and Service Levels, to join the Global Supply and Services Chain team.  This is an exciting opportunity for candidate who is looking for a challenge to apply business acumen, continuous improvement, and technical and analytical skills to solving business problems in the digital packaging and content industry.  The Global Supply and Services Chain team supports Global Operations and is constantly solving problems and working together to add value.

 

The Senior Manager, Standards and Service levels will be accountable for establishing, communicating, and implementing global standards for safety, quality,delivery, and cost, establishing a governance system, and managing compliance with service level agreements to customers.  The role will be responsible for driving standards performance through reporting, problem solving, and continuous improvement.  The ideal candidate is one with a dissatisfaction with the status quo, strong persuasion and communications skills, and an appetite to solve problems large and small for internal and external customers. 

 

The role may be based in an office or from home.  Periodic domestic and international travel may be required, up to 25%.  The position may be based in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Minneapolis, or other major markets within reasonable commute of an international airport.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

 

  • Own the vision and deploy the strategy for the future of management of standards and service level agreements within Global Operations, leading, developing, and transforming or reimagining standards and enforcing compliance with service level agreements
  • Lead the thinking, development, and implementation of key performance indicators, service level agreements, globally applicable standards related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Ensure global standards are deployed where required, regional input is integrated into standards where appropriate, and exceptions are managed through visual management and problem solving
  • Experienced in leading improvement initiatives from inception through to completion involving both multi-disciplinary and geographically remote partners, particularly in a global environment
  • Lead cross-functional teams to maintain and improve the global data standards ensuring standard innovation, compliance, and strategic alignment
  • Lead and direct problem solving activities designed to improve performance, reduce variation, and improve quality of processes
  • Collaborate and partner with global, regional, and local leadership of Operations, Finance, and Commercial with use of systems and processes for tracking of and enabling of reporting (e.g., time entry for CSRs and on-time delivery; database entry for quality);
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for use of standards related to material master and master data for SAP (product hierarchy and maintenance; service orders/applicability to billing)
  • Enable the commercial and operations teams to deliver what our customers want: shortest lead time, highest quality, and lowest cost
  • Conduct internal audits of processes on both scheduled and ad hoc bases
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to build management processes, data foundations, and tools to enable standardization within function
  • Drive improvement and unconventional thinking to deliver new, innovative solutions for global production within the assigned functional scope
  • Facilitate within a global network with proven experience in negotiating and influencing at different levels of the organization in a matrix environment.
  • Proactively identify risks, raise flags and resolve issues during standards development

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in progressive roles or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally as required that require overnights stays
  • Analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills (including analysis, interpretation, reasoning, and presentation) and the understand of cultural factors in communications
  • Ability to develop and to maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the global organization as well as internal and external clients
