The Director, Creative Operations is primarily responsible for driving client satisfaction and process improvements with our large, client-embedded project management team. They have the ability to not only manage the day-to-day duties of managing, mentoring and developing their team, but also the ability to anticipate and identify client needs and action strategies to meet defined objectives. This individual is also responsible for developing and fostering strong internal (agency) and external (client) relationships to ensure a collaborative, “one team” philosophy across the engagement.


Operational Excellence

  • Lead the project management operation to ensure client deliverables are on time and accurate, partner with client to understand needs and architect solutions, define tactics and create or utilize tools to drive results.
  • Liaise with the centralized production facility; provide insight into forecasting and planning
  • Identify and execute training opportunities for both staff and client teams
  • Oversee the facilitation of problem solving and issue resolution
  • Identify, engineer, and promote new, efficient ways to execute processes
  • Facilitate change across the onsite team both to drive efficiencies and a strong team culture
  • Oversee tools and technology deployed by the client and ensures these are maximizing the performance of the team
  • Execute and govern business processes at the client’s onsite operations
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of staff to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentor, coach, train and develop team.


Client Experience

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with client to effectively and consistently deliver value for the engagement.
  • Regularly engage and participate in planning sessions with client’s executive team to proactively and strategically identify/understand clients’ business drivers and challenges.
  • Maintain the proper balance between driving change and collaboration within organizations (both SGK and the Client)
  • Identify client needs and communicate those SGK solution opportunities to the growth team. Contribute to the development of the strategy and communication of specified SGK solution.


  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
  • 8+ years of hands-on project management leadership experience in creative or packaging field in a client-facing role.
  • 5+ years of people management experience, leading a team of at least 6 direct reports
  • Experience working with C-Suite, CMO and/or marketing executive teams to provide consultative points of view and best practices


  • PMI PMP Certification or enterprise-level project management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency using Windows/PC
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to connect and motivate a large team (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Occasional travel either locally (SF Bay Area) or nationally may be required.
