This role supervises a Production Team engaged in one or more production activities, such as 3D/CG, color & retouching, assembly, production art or quality control. The Supervisor of Production partners with the Project Coordination team to ensure projects remain on schedule and on budget. This position manages and makes adjustments to schedules, workloads, and resourcing as needed to ensure deadlines are met and the optimal performance of the team. The Supervisor of Production is responsible for resolving the most complex production problems using strong technical expertise and a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.

  • Proven ability in major CG techniques including lighting, compositing, texturing and shading.
  • Highly adept at problem solving and creative thinking.
  • Leadership of creative professionals within a scalable production environment.
  • Attends any pre-production meetings and/or interacts with customers directly as necessary.
  • Ensures high-quality standards in all production client deliverables.
  • Works closely with the project team, and production management peers, to ensure production deliverables within specific areas of expertise to follow project specifications and meet client needs.
  • Maintains a good understanding of market and competitor trends for assigned clients and communicates details with the project team.
  • Develops sound and effective production solutions to issues that impact their department and recommends workflows as necessary.
  • Creates strong and effective internal partnerships to ensure client needs are met and projects stay within scope, budget, timeline, and quality.
  • Proactively leads to the development of improved production processes.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
  • Follows-up with direct reports to ensure jobs are on target for established hours and deadlines and adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentors, coaches, trains and develops teams.
  • Fosters freelance artist pool and proactively recruits within the 3D/CG community.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Production or related field
  • 3+ years of previous managing production teams experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Maya, Nuke, and Vray preferred.
  • Prior experience managing a team of up to 20 artists.
  • High/Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organizations.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
