ROLE SUMMARY

Our team in York is looking to recruit a Senior Designer who is ready to step into a Design Director role**. 

 

The team has a a focus on Packaging, Point of Sale, digital and consumer experience campaigns. With clients including Nestlé, Coca-Cola and Colgate-Palmolive, there is the opportunity to work across a varied mix of high-profile brands, and the range of projects means no two days are ever the same. 

 

You have a proven track record and experience in a design/branding agency and have successfully worked with clients from concept through to creative execution across packaging ranges. You will also have experience in creating brand extensions and new variants for existing brand ranges and designs.

 

This role can be worked on a hybrid basis, currently 2 days in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take creative design briefs from clients and senior team members
  • Leads design project from concept phase through successful completion.
  • Develops and implements visual elements or creative concepts for project deliverables.
  • Translates existing and emerging concepts into actual brand and/or product designs.  
  • Take ownership, responsibility and accountability of client implementation projects 
  • Work collaboratively with other team members on larger creative projects
  • Presents ideas, research and trends during creative meetings with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Briefing illustrators, lettering artists and general suppliers, art directing photo-shoots 
  • Assist in the budgeting and assessing of the most appropriate third party partners and suppliers 
  • Construct clear and convincing presentations for internal and client purposes 
  • When required, present work to clients in a professional and organised manner
  • Mentor less experienced members of the team

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent in the use of relevant design software for your projects (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Keynote, Powerpoint etc)
  • Sound technical knowledge across, print production processes and materials 
  • Excellent time and project management  
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team 
  • Good communication and teamworking skills 
  • A good understanding of brand guidelines and how to implement and also develop them
