CAD Operator/Designer

POSITION SUMMARY

The CAD Operator / Designer prepares clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches and notes. This role is responsible for proposal drawings, fabrication drawings, bill of materials, fabrication cut list, and instruction sheets to be used in all aspects of development and manufacturing, using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares proposal drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole project.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Make any adjustments or changes necessary or required.
• Produces engineered drawings and instruction sheets.
• Builds and maintains bills of materials on drawing.
• Assists with creating and developing solutions.
• Draws finished designs from sketches.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting from an accredited school.
• 3+ years of previous drafting experience.
• High degree of proficiency in AutoCAD.
• High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
• Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
